Driven by a commitment to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and modern campus environment, the University has officially announced its investment in a significant renovation project targeting several campus spaces in the cornerstone of campus, the Seton Center.

Followed by the Mount’s recent Seton Center lobby renovation in Fall of 2025, the University is transforming additional high-traffic spaces into contemporary, functional environments where students can thrive. The Campus Facilities and Operations Department continues to make progress on this initiative, primarily designed to serve the student experience. The project is scheduled to be completed for the start of the 26-27 school year in August 2026.

"Our Strategic Plan 2030 is a roadmap for excellence, and the revitalization of the Seton Center is a vital part of that journey," said President H. James Williams, Ph.D., President of 外网天堂. "By creating more contemporary and accessible spaces, we are ensuring that the heart of our campus reflects the excellence and energy of our students. These upgrades provide the modern landscape necessary for our students to continue to connect with each other and flourish for years to come.”

A Look Inside the Transformation

The renovations, led by MSA Architects and Beischel Building Company, will focus heavily on the lower level to create a more fluid and functional central campus space.

“We are excited to manage a project that features the mid-century modern architecture of the Seton Center, with modern spaces and amenities focused on our students to support their growth and education,” says Chief Financial Offer Jeff Briggs, MBA, CPA.

Phase 1 Complete:

Phase 2, Thrailkill Hall of Student Success to be Completed April 2026

  • Thrailkill Hall of Student Success: This dedicated academic resource area designed to support student achievement houses four student-centered functions; Office of Residence Life, Center for Mission & Belonging, The Learning Commons, and the Advising Resource Center & First Year Experience. While the corridor has already been transformed with fresh paint, new flooring, a vinyl wall base, and new lettering to identify the hallway, the final creative vision will be finished in April 2026 with the installation of custom wall graphics.

Phase 2, The Final Push Arriving Aug. 2026:

  • Lower-Level Commuter Lounge: Inspired by the success of the Alter Library renovation, students can expect more study spaces, gathering spots, and a new kitchenette with an icemaker. An accessible restroom will also be added, as well as upgrades to traditional restrooms and the air systems to introduce more fresh air to this lower level. A lower-level vestibule entrance will also be added from South Parking Lot.

  • Market C: The Mount’s self-service micro-market located on the ground floor of the Seton Center is getting a new relevant look, feel, and improved security will be added to the space allowing 24/7 access.

  • Police Station Offices: Campus Police are relocating to the South-facing lower-level where the Roar Store was previously located. This space will include new lighting, furniture, and flooring for the space.

  • ROAR Store: The Mount’s official home of spirit wear and gifts is moving to a prime new location where Campus Police was formerly housed. With a new exterior storefront installation, people on campus will be able to walk in from the South Parking Lot, or through the west hallway entrance as well.

Looking Ahead to Fall 2026

The Mount is currently fielding research to identify names of the spaces that are relevant and fun for students. While the work begins this March, the true celebration will happen this August when students return to find a Seton Center that is fresh, inviting, and student-ready. Stay tuned!
