Addison Bess, Sport Management Major ‘25

1. What is your graduation year and major(s)/minor(s)?
I am a Senior graduating in May 2025, majoring in .
2. What inspired you to pursue your major(s)?
I knew immediately, coming into college I’d major in sports because of my passion for the game. I’ve played basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and ran track so sports have always been a part of my life and I wanted to continue that as my career.
3. Why did you choose the Mount?
I chose the Mount because of the scholarship opportunity offered to me and the chance to start college with a few friends from high school. I felt it would make the transition from high school to college smoother.
4. Is there a professor/instructor that helped your development as a person?
deepened my appreciation for learning by fostering a lighthearted and easygoing environment. It’s refreshing to have a professor who strikes the perfect balance between keeping things relaxed and delivering meaningful, engaging, and understandable lectures.
5. Do you co-op/intern? If so, please provide a brief description of your duties and experience.
I am currently interning in athletics here at MSJ as a Game Day Operations Assistant. Here, I am assisting in home games for all sports, including ticketing, event technology, concessions, and everything that has to do with game day. I love it because I’m learning so much about various sports and what it takes to work in a collegiate athletic department.
6. What is your involvement like at the Mount?
I’ve been working at our spirit shop, The Roar Store, for four years now, I enjoy making others day a bit better when I can. I am also the marketing chair for our Sport Management Club here, SASM, where I promote our clubs and activities throughout the semester (it’s a lot of fun you should join) and I’m the Entertainment Chair for the Campus Activities Board, which there, I schedule and plan on-campus events!
7. How would you rate your educational experience at the Mount so far?
I’d give my educational experience at the Mount a solid rating. I’ve learned plenty that I’ll be able to take with me after graduation, and I’ll forever be thankful for that.
